What’s this?

It’s a new translator-focused section on the Translation Center, whereby translators will be able to learn from the moderated strings, for which they submitted translations but still were not approved.

What strings appear here?

Phrases where the approved translation was not the one you voted for or submitted.

Can you give me an example of how feedback is provided?

For each translation you submitted and did not get approved, the Feedback feature allows you to see the original phrase in English, the option you submitted or voted for, and the option the moderator ultimately chose. Click on the one you think is correct. If you are correct, you will see the following message: “Well done!” If you are not correct you will, instead, see a message in red.

Can I get more specific feedback?

Sure! Sometimes a moderator will add the reason why they approved a particular phrase. This additional feedback can help you improve your translations in the long run. How is this useful?

The Feedback feature will help you understand why your translation or vote was not approved and what is the preferred way to translate different types of strings on the site.

Does this change the phrase we submitted the first time?

No.
