Moderator Spotlight: Maciej

Outside of being a member of the Twitter Localization Moderators team, I’m a programmer and blogger. I create web/mobile/desktop apps and write about IT. Unemployed since last week (hurray!), I’m now concentrated on freelancing. Also, I create 2D and 3D-like animations.

By being part of the Moderator program, I can work with many awesome people, I can do something good for the world, I can mention my translating for @Twitter in my Bio and I have the opportunity to experience something new, not necessarily related to my profession or hobby.

When it comes to volunteering my time to translate Twitter, I can say that there's much more Poles on Twitter since December 21, 2011 when we launched Twitter in Polish! And I really like the feeling when I tweet something from @twitter_pl account and in 1 minute I see more than 10 replies. And of course, I just like translating.

I don't remember the first thing I translated, but I remember that I spent over 4 hours on translating when I saw the TTC for the first time. I couldn't even imagine that I'd become a moderator. I didn't know that there would be any moderators at all. My pro tip for translators is keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it well. But don't be very serious while translating. Chill out, sometimes it has to be funny!
