Forum Usage Policy

The Twitter Translation Centre forums are for people to discuss localisation of Twitter and its products in their languages. Whilst we do provide a ‘General Discussion’ forum, we strive to maintain a pleasant atmosphere for all members of our Translation Community. When posting in the forum, your posts should be respectful and should use general etiquette and politeness.

All forum users are subject to the Twitter rules and Twitter Terms of Service.
Rules, ToS

This is a moderated forum, however, we are only here to make sure that the content does not violate our forum policy. Staff will remove or edit posts that violate the following policy:

Spam
Accounts which spam the forum (unsolicited advertising) will be banned and their posts removed.

Violence, Illegal Activity & Adult Content

Any posts with the following content will be removed and the author will be banned.

  • Sexually explicit content
  • Illegal content
  • Violent Material
  • Links to Sexual, Illegal, Violent content
  • Profanity

    • Our forum is open to users of different ages and we do not permit profanity of any kind. Users agree to not use any abusive, obscene, hateful, vulgar, threatening or sexual related comments in their posts.

    Religion & Political Posts
    The Translation Centre Forums are associated with a Localisation content. We do not permit topics about Religion and Political incentive.

    Thread Topic & Discussion
    Please keep threads on-topic and do not steer topics into a completely new discussion. For that, create a new topic.

    Forum Avatars
    The Twitter Translation Forum uses your Twitter profile image. As per forum policy, we do not allow explicit and violent nature images.

    Personal Attacks, Trolling, Flaming
    The following type of posts are not permitted in this forum:

  • Derogatory terms, personal attacks upon users and staff
  • Trolling: provoking an emotional response from a author/poster.
  • Flaming: messages that harass authors/posters.
  • Flame-bait: topics that will (knowingly) cause people to flame against you and others

    • Links
    You may post links to other sites, however, they must comply with our Forum Policy.

    Post Editing
    If your post violates the Forum Policy, it will be edited by a Moderator/Admin. They will remove the content which violates the policy and leave the rest of your post. On some cases, the entire forum post/thread may be removed.

    Closing Threads
    On times, staff may close threads if:

  • The topic has turned into an argument
  • It is a very old thread
  • Duplicate threads
  • Account Removal

    • If you violate any of Twitter’s rules and forum rules within the Translation forum, you account can be removed. This includes posting any private information about another user.
